The Mid-Ohio Valley Christian Walk was formed by a youth group who did not understand why different denominations and different churches existed.
Their innocent way of thinking could not comprehend the politics behind why Jesus believing Christians do not all just go to the same church.
They could comprehend, however, that there is power in numbers.
They saw some of the worldly problems the church was facing and thought we would have a significantly better chance standing and fighting together than apart.
As Abe Lincoln famously stated, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”
The Bible also has very similar teachings on this topic such as Corinthians 1:10 which states, “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”
Armed with this knowledge, these teens and young adults set out with a mission to take the world by storm.
Their goal was to tear down the walls that divided the denominations and churches within those denominations.
They went around to various local churches from all denominations and recruited people to attend their event they had founded.
They called it the “Christian Walk”.
They wanted to bring existing Christians and even non-Christians together for an event.
But they also wanted some way to show the world their concept of strength in numbers coming to light.
Therefore, they decided to do an event that consisted of Christians coming together and marching through their small town and showing the world that they are strong and unashamed of who they are or what they believe.
Everyone of all denominations, churches and walks of life is invited to attend this year’s Mid-Ohio Valley Christian Walk.
Even if you are not currently a Christian but just want to see what we are all about please feel free to come.
You will not be singled out or feel out of place. Instead, you will be made to feel like family.
